Long Weekend in Cairo (5 Days / 4 Nights)
Day 1: Cairo
Your adventure begins as you touch down at Cairo airport. Expect a warm welcome and assistance through arrival formalities.
You'll then be transferred to your comfortable hotel. Check in and enjoy your first overnight stay in Cairo.
Day 2: Dashur / Sakkara / Pyramids
After breakfast at the hotel, start a fascinating journey to the Dashur area with the Pyramids of King Snefru, and the Sakkara Necropolis with the Step Pyramid of King Zoser and the Tombs of the Nobles from the Old Kingdom era, full of colourful scenes that narrate the daily life of the ancient Egyptians. Lunch in a local restaurant and continue our progrm to visit the Great Pyramids in Giza of Cheops, Chefren and Menkaure and the famous Sphinx. Return to the hotel and overnight.
Day 3: Egyptian Museum and Market
Breakfast at the hotel. Visit the Egyptian Museum, where testimonies and vestiges of Egyptian civilization are kept. The most admired is certainly the exceptional treasure found in TUTANKHAMON's tomb, which includes various artefacts and the pharaoh's golden mask. Lunch in restaurant. In the afternoon, visit Al-Moez street in the heart of 1st century Fatimid Cairo, then free time in the market streets of KHAN EL KALILI. Return to the hotel and overnight.
Day 4: Islamic Cairo & Coptic Cairo
Enjoy breakfast at your hotel before we take you to the old Cairo with particular attention to the Islamic aspect. We will visit very important mosques from an artistic point of view such as the Sultan Hassan Mosque. Following with visits to the Citadel with the Mohamed Ali Mosque famous as the Alabaster Mosque and the Nasser Mohammad Mosque. Lunch in a restaurant and transfer to Coptic Cairo. Visit the famous Hanging Church, the Church of St. Sergius and the synagogue and the Coptic Museum. Back to hotel and overnight stay in the hotel.
Day 5: Cairo
Breakfast at the hotel we have another fantastic day to visit the Islamic Cairo with the Ibn Tulun mosque, one of the oldest mosques in Egypt (9th century), from the Gayer Anderson Museum, you walk inside a setting and feel like part of the history of the place itself. Perhaps this is because the house itself, as the ceilings, walls, corridors and doors are among the most interesting sights. Or maybe because the museum was once a house and people once lived here.
Transfer to the airport and departure on the flight back home.
